Wadi Rahaba - Umm Shomar Trek (3 days) For those who want to escape the traditional hiking routes and steep grades in the high mountains for a few days yet still want the challenge of an ascent and stunning view of the South Sinai Peninsula, Mt. Umm Shomar is the right choice. Along the way the hiker will encounter many gardens, Byzantine ruins, colorful desert rock formations and top the experience off with an ascent of Egypt’s second highest peak. The hiker will then relive all the adventure of the past 3 days during an hour and a half jeep ride back to the town of St. Catherine’s. - Two well preserved gardens
- 100 year old Bedouin dwellings
- Beautiful view high mountain region including of Mt Sinai and Mt Catherine
- Walk towards and on to Wadi Eshlul
- Enter Ulad Said territory
- Bedouin Ruins
- Continue through Wadi Rasis to Namena
- Stop for Bedouin tea at Namena
- Walk towards evening campsite at Rotak
- Arrive at campsite (cameleers have set everything up a few hours beforehand)
- Dinner

| Day 02 | Breaksfast- Depart from Rotak and walk up wadi Rofra
- Walk towards Naqb Abu Amrain
- Nice view of expansive deserts on both sides
- Pass old Bedouin cemetery
- Walk down Wadi Rahaba
- Stop for tea at the Protectorate Environmental Center
- Large open desert plain
- Byzantine Ruins
- Walk up Wadi Zaiwateena
- Lunch break
- Garden,Well and Dwelling
- Continue up Wadi Zaiwateena towards Wadi Breka
- View of Mt Abu Shejera and Umm Shomar
- View of the beautiful Wadi El Breka Gorge
- Descent into Wadi El Breka towards Dier Rumhan
- Camp in Wadi Rumhan
- Dinner

| Day 03 | Breakfast - Depart from Wadi Rumhan
- Climb up to Diset Narhla pass
- View of the climb up Umm Shomar
- Option to back out and visit the Monastery of Antush
- 2 hr climb up Umm Shomar, the second highest peak in Egypt (2,621m)
- Beautiful views of South Sinai
- El Tur
- Jebel Katrina
- Red Sea
- Wadi El Kharita
- Wadi Umm Leha
- Wadi Shedik
- Wadi Rummhan (our campsite)
- Wadi Rahaba
- On a clear day the continent of Africa can be seen across the red sea
